Christina’s words will speak for herself but her alter-ego is Doug Green, a full-time writer, living, and writing on an island off the city of Kingston, Ontario in the thousand island area of Canada.
I grew up listening to stories in a disappearing countryside. Family and friends would congregate around old wood kitchen tables, and fuelled by cups of strong tea or glasses of cold beer, the stories would emerge. I’d listen to the rueful or joyous laughter and try to stay out of sight so as not to be sent to bed.
In that tradition of countryside laughter used to remember the important things and rail against changing worlds, I’ve always told stories as well.
Now, I write them to share with you. I invite you to consider if these words and worlds are where you want to live.
About Christina in Real Life
(Doug writing here) I chose this pen name because there were already other writers in this genre with my real name.
And the name is my mother’s.
She was incredibly supportive of my writing and reading. As a young man growing up, she encourage me to read and then to write. She was also a serious reader right to the point where Alzheimer’s robbed her of that gift.
My parents made serious sacrifices to get both of their sons educated and launched into this world. And it seems right to me to remember her this way – telling stories and sharing them.

- D. Frank Green – my science-fiction/dystopian story website holding the darker stories. This pen name is my writer, newsman brother – who died far too young. It’s my way of remembering him as well.
